Dr. Greg Church serves as the County Extension Agent for Horticulture in Collin County, Texas.
Dr. Church attended grade school in Plano and graduated from Plano East Senior High School. He went on to receive his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Stephen F. Austin State University. Dr. Church received his Doctor of Philosophy in Plant Pathology from Texas A&M University where he conducted research on nematode resistance.
Dr. Church previously worked as a Research Plant Pathologist with the USDA, Agricultural Research Service at the U.S. Horticultural Research Laboratory in Fort Pierce, Florida. While there his research focused on the development of biological, chemical, and cultural pest control methods in commercial floriculture and ornamental plant production.
Dr. Church transferred from Texas AgriLife Research in Chillicothe and Vernon, Texas to become the County Extension Agent for Horticulture in Collin County. At the Chillicothe-Vernon Research Station Dr. Church served as a Research Scientist and Farm Manager. He investigated alternative crop production, subsurface drip irrigation, soil tillage, and soil health.
