Extension Office Horticultural Help Line

Several days a week, Master Gardeners man the Help Desk at the Texas AgriLife Extension Service Collin County Office, answering horticulture questions from the public.

"How can I save my oak tree?"
"What will bloom in shade?"
"What berry varieties can I plant?"

These are just a few of the hundreds of questions answered by Master Gardeners from the Help Desk of  Texas AgriLife Extension Service in Collin County. Master Gardeners volunteer thousands of hours each year manning the phone and researching answers for those who call, e-mail or drop by the office on McDonald Street in McKinney.

Master Gardeners have received extensive training that enables them to give sound, research-based advice. A library of horticultural reference books enables volunteers to look up answers to baffling questions. Volunteers are often able to provide printed brochures or handouts as well.
