A&M-Dallas Research Assistance

Master Gardeners sometimes gather data for researchers like Dr. Kevin Ong of the Texas A&M Dallas Research Center.

In recent years Collin County Master Gardeners have sometimes assisted researchers at the Dallas Research Center of Texas A&M University. Projects for which MGs have gathered data include the Urban Plant Detective program. Master Gardeners worked in teams to observe crape myrtle plantings and to record the effects of various sprays on powdery mildew. Their observations became part of the raw data in a study conducted by A&M plant pathologist Dr. Kevin Ong.

Master Gardeners have also helped with a rose pathology program and a variety of other A&M projects.
